Baroka and Leopards have an advantage of playing play-offs at own home province

LIMPOPO will be the centre of attraction for the 2016/17 National First Division Promotional Play-Offs, WRITES NAKAMPE LEKWADU

This after Baroka FC finished their Absa Premiership campaign on the 15th position following their 1-0 victory over Ajax Cape Town over the past weekend.

Baroka has joined their Limpopo counterparts, Black Leopards in these play-offs who finished second in the National First Division campaign while the third club is Stellenbosch FC from the Western Cape.

This outcome means Limpopo will host four of the six matches in these play-offs with only two matches playing in the Western Cape.

The play-offs starts on Wednesday, May 31 with Stellenbosch who finished 3rd in the NFD’s maiden season hosting Baroka. Kick-Off at the Athlone Stadium is at 3pm.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the 2016/17 Promotion Play-off fixtures venues, dates and kick-off times.

From there, the focus will be shifted to Limpopo all the way with three matches being hosted in that province starting with the one which will see Leopards welcoming Stellenbosch at the Thohoyandou Stadium on June 3 then followed by the Limpopo Derby between Baroka and Leopards at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on June 7 at 7.30pm before Baroka could entertain Stellenbosch at the same venue on June 10 at 3pm.

Stellenbosch will also have their fair chance when they host Leopards on June 14 at the Athlone Stadium at 7.30 before the last match could be played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on June 27 wherein Leopards will play-host Baroka in the last match of the play-offs at 3pm.
