FOLLOWING Kaizer Chiefs’ announcements on Tuesday, the Carling Black Label Champion Cup has noted developments pertaining to a number of departing players at the club
The fact that certain players will leave Kaizer Chiefs at the end of their contracts will result in them being ineligible to play in the 7th edition of the Carling Black Label Champion Cup. On July 29, Kaizer Chiefs will take on Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium, in what has been credited as the highlight of the South African football pre-season calendar.
The Soweto giants confirmed they had terminated the contracts of defender Siyanda Xulu, midfielder Lucky Baloyi, and strikers Camaldine Abraw and Lewis Macha, by mutual consent. Another forward, Siphelele Mthembu, sees his contract come to an end and he will leave the club as a free agent.
Chiefs will also allow midfielder Enocent Mkhabela to make his loan move to Platinum Stars permanent, while the club have indicated they will allow Zimbabwean forward Michelle Katsvairo to leave on loan.
Carling Black Label would like to assure fans who voted for these players that they are still eligible to win the Champion Coach prize. This is an unparalleled experience that affords the winners an opportunity to be part of the technical team on match-day.
Champion Coaches will be credited with a Super Vote per position which will enable them to still influence formation and the starting line-up. Therefore the Super Vote affords fans that voted for players who has been released, the power to re-allocate votes to their new preferred players.
