Great musicians to keep fans entertained at the Masakhane Fundraising Campaign Gig

MUSIC lovers across the country’s Gold City (Johannesburg) can expect a long night filled with fun and flair when the long awaited Annual Masakhane Fundraising Campaign takes this evening at the Constitutional Hill. This event organized by Sounds Of Jozi Development Hup which marks its second year and has been previously graced with appearances by celebrities and other special guests such as iHhashi Elimhlophe, Brenda Mtambo, Amarayoni, Thee legacy and Africapella, Masakhane has proved to be a huge success.
Under the project management of Magalela Multimedia, this year’s edition of Masakhane Fundraising Campaign will also commemorate the Nelson Mandela 100 legacy, hence the 100 students. Nelson Mandela was incredibly passionate about the education of the youth, to the point where his most known quote is “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
As in past years the goal of the event is to raise money and awareness to the plight that has befallen on the many young people who face many difficulties as a result of being from child headed households. Many of them find themselves having to drop out of school, and taking on roles and stresses that are well beyond their years and capacities. Needless to say many also end up homeless as mentioned before, this initiative is a fundraising initiative for the children and the youth of Agang Sechaba which is a South African NPO that places the education of children and the youth at the forefront. While the event itself may in large be a fundraising attempt, it is also a way to involve the community and other young people and those with abilities to engage and be a part of building a better future and making the challenges these people face, more bearable .The evening will also feature performances by Sounds of Jozi and a few of South Africa’s influential artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Sjava, Zoe Modiga, Langa Mavuso, DJ C-Live, Nomcebo and many more. It would be a great honour to have you present at the event and hope that you may lend a voice in creating more visibility to the prevalence of this issue that affects so many of our young people. It is our vision and goal to see this event become bigger and more impactful in the years to come, just as we have now been able to achieve last year’s event, a better event will be achieved this year. Doors will be open from 18h30 and the show will commence at 19h15 at the Constitution Hill (the kidneys area) Tickets are available at the door for R200 adults and R120 children under the age of 12.
