BLACK Leopards produced one of their best ever performance that saw them emerged 2-0 victorious over disjointed SuperSport United under the scorching heart at the almost packed Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
The day belong to Lidoda Duvha’s influential star, Mwape Musonda who scored a brace that added to Matsatsantsa A Pitori’s woes who came to this match after a 1-0 loss at home to Cape Town City.
For Musonda, the brace took him to the summit of the league’s highest score-board with 7 goals where he is square with the Golden Boot’s hopeful, Mothobi Mvala of Highlands Park.
Leopards’ victory over SuperSport was the third one in a raw after the Venda based-side had beaten AmaZulu 3-1 away on December 15, their last match on the 2018 before they could beat Baroka FC 1-0 away in the Limpopo Derby on January 6. Lidoda Duvha are now lying 11th on the log with 19 points from 16 league matches.
Meanwhile Baroka FC forced a 2-all draw away to Cape Town City in another league match played at the Cape Town Stadium.
The draw was just a drop in an ocean as the 2018 Telkom Knockout champions are finding themselves operating in a relegation zone, 14th on the log with 15 points from 17 matches. Bakgaga are just three points clear from the troubled Chippa United who are on the 15th position with Maritzburg United on the 16th position with 11 points from 16 matches.
Meanwhile Steve “Koloi” Komphela will for the first time guide his new charges, Golden Arrows against his former side, Bloemfontein Celtic in a league match scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday, January 13) at Mangaung’s Dr Molemela Stadium in Free State.
This will be Komphela’ second match in charge of Abafana Bes’thende after having guided them to a 2-0 victory over Maritzburg United a week ago.
