LIMPOPO Tourism Agency (LTA) Board today officially announced their newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms. Nomasonto Ndlovu. LTA has been operating without a CEO since the departure of Mr. Ndumiso Matlala in April 2017.
We believe that her vision and extensive experience in the field of marketing will benefit and enrich the entity’s efforts of achieving its goal of marketing Limpopo Province thereby maintaining its number one spot as a leading domestic tourism destination in the country. It is believed that Ms. Ndlovu’s understanding of her role and functions will be central at the entity to assist the Board to fulfil its mandate of marketing the province as a destination of choice. Ms. Ndlovu brings with her impeccable experience gained from private and public sector entailing among others the following:
- Strategic Executive Director: Communications, Marketing and Events-City of Tshwane (2012 – 2017)
- Global Manager: Business Tourism-South African Tourism (2008-2012)
- Head: Brand Marketing, Sponsorships and Events-Standard Bank of South Africa [Corporate and Investment Banking Division (CIB)] (2007-2008)
- General Manager: Marketing-Kwazulu Natal Tourism Authority (2005-2007)
- Marketing Manager: Knorr Brand and other various brand management positions-Unilever South Africa (1995-2005).
The Board is optimistic that Ms. Ndlovu will take LTA to greater heights and help keep the momentum for Limpopo to continue claiming its number one spot as a destination of choice to domestic travellers in the country.
The Chairperson of the LTA Board expressed his delight for the appointment of a person of Ms. Ndlovu’s calibre as their CEO given not only her experience but the administrative knowledge and a global network she brings with her to the Agency. “I wish to, on behalf of the LTA Board express our excitement to have Ms. Ndlovu as our new CEO, given the new singular mandate we have of marketing our Province. We are confident that this appointment will ensure that we maintain our top spot as the most visited Province on the Domestic Tourism front. We will as the Board support Ms. Ndlovu as the new CEO and her team to achieve the goals that we have set for the Agency”.

Nomasonto Ndlovu does not only have a passion for brands, but also the special touch of taking them from good to great and turn them into household names.
With more than ten years of classical brand marketing experience gained within the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, specifically at Unilever South Africa, she has already worked on various local and global brands in various positions over the years.
While at Unilever, she was seconded for three years in Kenya as a Brand Manager for OMO Brand, one of Unilever’s biggest brands. She thereafter ventured into destination marketing in 2005 joining tourism board of Kwa-Zulu-Natal, where she held a position of General Manager: Marketing responsible for the “Zulu Kingdom” brand across business, leisure and events tourism.
She became the Global Manager: Business Tourism at South African Tourism (SAT) for three years, where she was responsible for marketing South Africa as a premier business tourism destination globally. Here, she led and contributed to growing Meetings Africa, a marketing platform to showcase South Africa as a business tourism destination. She also led the establishment of SA’s National Convention Bureau., housed with SA Tourism
She has also held the position of Head: Brand Marketing, Sponsorships and Events at Standard Bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking Division (CIB).
She recently held a position of Strategic Executive Director, Communications, Marketing & Events Department at the City of Tshwane, where she was responsible for the repositioning of the city to reclaim its glory as a capital city of South Africa, and this has involved identifying and overseeing implementation of flagship events to position the city nationally and internationally. She successfully led the team to deliver the inaugural Tshwane Golf Open 2013, which put the city on the global map, an event that has now been hosted for 5 years in the city.
