The excitement for top-tier men’s international rugby returns in February with the Six Nations tournament.
The 2024 edition offers a stage for Northern Hemisphere rugby giants to climb the rankings and challenge their Southern counterparts.
The tournament kicks off on Friday, 2nd February, with a high-profile match as France hosts Ireland in Marseille. Both teams, having exited the Rugby World Cup at the quarter-final stage, are set to reignite their rivalry.
The opening weekend also features England’s journey to Rome to face Italy, a seemingly gentler start to their campaign. Concurrently, Scotland and Wales clash in a duel of United Rugby Championship (URC) nations.
In the second round, Scotland welcomes France to Murrayfield, and England plays host to Wales at Twickenham. The first Sunday match sees Italy traveling to Dublin to face Ireland.
Reaching the halfway point two weeks later, Ireland hosts Wales in Dublin, and Scotland defends the Calcutta Cup against England at Murrayfield. France and Italy will face off in Lille on the following Sunday.
After another two-week interval, the fourth round commences with Italy challenging Scotland in Rome. England takes on Ireland at Twickenham, seeking their first victory over Ireland since 2020. Wales hosts France in Cardiff on Sunday, 10th March.
The final round unfolds on Saturday, 16th March, starting with Wales against Italy. Ireland battles Scotland in Dublin, leading up to the day’s highlight: the famed ‘Le Crunch’ match between England and France at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon, an eagerly anticipated fixture for the French fans.
