Ajax and Chiefs take it to the battle filed in the quarters of Metro Premier Cup

THE Metropolitan Under-19 Premier Cup gets hot this morning with the quarterfinals taking place at various fields at Belhar’s Erica Park in Cape Town.

All eyes with be focussed the match between Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs which is scheduled for the main field (field A) at 11.30am

While Ajax boast of many titles in this tournament which celebrates its 25th year, Chiefs will be looking forward to overcome the Cape side in their attempt to proceeds to the semis with the final match as their ultimate goal with the hope of earning their first Premier Cup silver-ware.

For the record, Ajax has won this tournament five times while Chiefs have never in their history reached the final match.

The young Urban Warriors reached the quarterfinals after they overcame ASD Cape Town with a 2-0 drubbing in the last 16 with Chiefs having beaten Harmony Academy with the same margin on their way to the quarters.

Other quarterfinal matches are: RC Athletico v Old Mutula, Milano United v Hanover Park, Tuks v Cape Town All Stars, Imortals v Atlantis Leeds, Bontasig v Sntos, BidVest Wits v Mamelodi Sundowns and Berea Albions v SuperSport United.
