South Africa cricken talented star, Hashim Amla has moved up the ranks of the ICC ODI International batsmen, surpassing team-mate AB de Villiers to claim the number 1 spot on Tuesday, November 9.
The talented Amla was the primary man in the last Proteas series against Pakistan, scoring 291 runs, one century and two-half centuries.
In a statement from Cricket South Africa it was announced that his latest performance earned hin 40 rating points which saw him ahead of De Villiers.
The former number 1, De Villiers started the series in lead position having nailed 817 points but ended in second place on 809 points after hammering a score of 209 runs which included two-half centuries.
The team Captain, Graeme Smith has also moved one place to the fifteenth position after a 124 runs after three matches with team-mate JP Duminy who stepped up his game to claim the 23rd position after moving 5 steps forward.
After a stunning performance throughout all the series, bowler Morne Morkel has been voted the highest-ranked bowler after moving from 13th-12th position. This is by far the best rating he has ever had for most of his career after an astonishing eight wickets in the series.
Morkel has overtaken Johan Botha and Dale Steyn who are now in 14th and 17th place.
To Kallis’ delight, he is in fourth place in the rankings of the all rounders with Nonwabo Tsotsobe in 50th.
