Bay United and Royal Zulu in a neck to neck race for title

The race for the National First division league title in the coastal stream has become a two dog-race between Bay United and Thanda Royal Zulu.

This after United reclaimed their top spot on the log when they beat Royal Zulu 3-0 on Saturday afternoon to unseat them from the top.

With seven matches remaining for the clubs in the NFD, the two sides (both on 28 points) are seems destined for the league honours as they have opened a gap of eight points against third positioned, Carara Kicks who have collected 20 points by far.

In the inland stream, Jomo Cosmos opened a five point gap between themselves and fellow contenders, Pretoria University with Black Leopards also in the picture.

Ezenkosi registered a narrow 1-0 victory away to Witbank Spurs over the weekend to cement their top position with 31 points with Pretoria University still on the second position after dropping two valuable points when they drew goalless against FC AK.

Black Leopards who beat United 2-0 are third with 25 points.

The rest of the NFD results are:

 Coastal: Nathi Lions 0 v Blackburn Rovers 1, Hanover Park 1 v Carara Kicks 1, African Warriors 1 v FC Cape Town 1.

Inland stream: Batau 6 v Dynamos 3
