Chiefs and Swallows clash for Soweto' supremacy, plus win double tickets for this match

 

HAVING waited so long during the mid-season break, the resumption of PSL action throws up an enticing Soweto derby for Amakhosi fans when Kaizer Chiefs welcome a resurgent Moroka Swallows to the FNB Stadium tomorrow at the FNB Stadium. Kick-Off is at 6pm.

The home fixture gives Chiefs the opportunity to put some daylight between themselves and their Soweto rivals in the race for the 2011/12 League title, after Amakhosi entered the mid-season recess a couple of points ahead of the Dube Birds.

“A local derby always produces an extra edge of excitement and Vodacom will be out in full force to ensure the Amakhosi faithful give the team an added advantage that will see them to victory,” said Vodacom’s Managing Executive: Marketing, Enzo Scarcella.

Indeed, Vodacom’s familiar red branded Gig Rig pulls into the East Rand and Soweto for Road Shows to get the party started first at the Tsakane Mall on Thursday 16 February, beginning at 12h00 until 17h00. The following day, Friday 17 February, the Road Show moves to Jabulani Mall where the fun gets under way at 12h00, running until 17h00. Local radio station will also be contributing to the build up, running on-air competitions throughout the week leading up to the clash.

The Road Shows provide a variety of enjoyable activities, including MCs and DJs spinning tunes and giving away great prizes to lucky Chiefs supporters. Jessica Motaung, Amakhosi’s Director of Marketing was in positive mood in anticipation of the match: “There is a strong rivalry due to the close proximity of the clubs and we are both aware of the importance of getting a good start to the second phase of the season,” she said, adding, “The team is in good shape and with the support of our long-standing partners, Vodacom and our loyal fans, we are confident of putting on a good performance.”
