Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Josta Dladla is looking forward to starting against Vasco Da Gama this Saturday, November 27 in an Absa Premiership league clash at the Soccer City Stadium.
“It has been good to start the last two games and thankfully we have won them. I am hoping to hold onto my place for this weekend’s clash with Vasco Da Gama, hopefully I can give my input into what can be another strong and successful team performance,” Dladla said of the last two matches he played a role in.
Chiefs are in the final of the Telkom Knockout cup which will be played at Soccer City on December 4, but Dladla is only focusing on the Vasco match.
“It is a great achievement for us to have reached the final, many players do not get to play in a Cup final their entire career to play in a second successive on is fantastic. Right now the final is not in our plans, we are thinking only about Vasco.”
“We need to separate our league and cup ambitions, winning on Saturday will keep us in the league race, after our loss to Santos in the league a few weeks ago we cannot afford to lose another league game.”
Chiefs are second on the Premiership table with 17 points from eight matches, one point less than leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
“We have lots of games until the December recess, we have to take it a game at a time and something that we have done well so far is also to treat each game as important and not down grade the importance of any match. If we stay focused we will carry on getting good results.”
