What if it is not money that changes the world but people? What if people could afford to donate themselves to a worthy cause that could benefit society?

Having recognised that NPOs benefit more from the transfer of skills and experience than they do from cash donations, Vodacom is again calling for skilled people who want to make a difference. Through the volunteers are paid a monthly salary to dedicate their time, energy, and skills to local NPOs for a year.
“We have seen how our past and present volunteers have transformed the lives of people around them and can attest to the success that ordinary people can achieve when given the right opportunity. The opportunity to make a positive difference by donating your skills and time to an NPO is now available to you,” says Maya Makanjee, chief officer corporate affairs at Vodacom.
This unique initiative, which has been running since 2010, has seen some phenomenal volunteers donating their time. If you’ve got the passion and skills to make a real difference in your local community, why not get involved? First you’ll need to approach your chosen NPO and gain their support. Agree on a project plan and deliverables for your time with them and submit your application on www.vodacom.co.za/changetheworld
Applications where the project focus is on health, education and the use of information communication technology (ICT) to solve social needs will have an advantage.

Entries to take part in the 2013 Vodacom Change the World programme open on 12 November 2012 and close at 16h00 on 20 January 2013.
