The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying match between South Africa and Egypt will be played at the Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday March 26.

The much-anticipated encounter will kick off at 8.05pm, and the tickets for the match will go on sale on Friday at Computicket outlets and Shoprite Checkers stores.

The lower tier tickets will cost R100 and R50 for upper tier tickets. Safa acting chief executive officer Pinky Lehoko says the association is expecting a capacity crowd at the 60 000 seater stadium.

Lehoko says the match has generated a huge interest locally and internationally. “We are inundated with enquiries about our match against Egypt, and judging by the high level of interest, we are doing everything possible to ensure that come match day we give the spectators a wonderful football experience.

We have involved a number of stakeholders in our quest to deliver a great event at the Ellis Park Stadium. In the next few day we will unveil a comprehensive plan around the match,” said Lehoko.
