ENGEN yesterday announced a new partnership with one of South Africa’s top Premier Soccer League teams, Supersport United Football Club.
This sees the two entities enter into a three year deal with a possibility of an extension after 2016.
The big reveal took place at Engen’s Head Office in Cape Town, where dignitaries joined in to celebrate the partnering of two leading South African brands. At the end of the press conference, Supersport United players entered the room wearing their new kit for the 2013-2014 season.
“We are proud to officially announce a three-year partnership between Engen and Supersport United FC, two performance driven brands. I firmly believe that this is the start of a mutually successful partnership; a partnership built on our shared values, drive and professionalism,” said Tasneem Sulaiman-Bray, Engen’s general manager of corporate affairs.
Khulu Sibiya, chairman of Supersport International, expressed his excitement for the partnership between the three-time PSL champions and Engen.
“Supersport is excited to be associated with South Africa’s leading petroleum brand and looks forward to working with Engen in the future. Both organisations share the same ethos and ambition, and the new deal affirms Engen’s belief in Supersport United’s status as a leading South African football club.”
The announcement comes a week prior to Supersport United’s match against Manchester City. Matsatsantsa tackle the English giants this coming Sunday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Recently appointed Coach, Cavin Johnson and his charges are preparing for the match against the big-spending former English Premiership champions at the High Performance Centre in Stellenbosch.
