

The Legends League Cricket is a cricket tournament that comprises of two events – the Legends League Cricket Franchise tournament, and the Masters tournament. Both events are played in the T20 format.The Masters tournament saw three editions being held between 2022 and 2023. The tournament featured three teams – India Maharajas, Asia Lions, and World Giants. Each team featured retired players from a particular geographical region.
The teams would play each other in a double round-robin format. At the end of the league stage, the top two teams contest the finals. Two points are awarded for a win, one for a draw or no result, and zero for a tie. Out of the three editions held as of 2025, India Maharajas are the only team to have not won a title.
The Legends League Franchise event has been held regularly. But the franchise teams have altered over the years. As of 2024, the participating teams are India Capitals, Manipal Tigers, Southern Super Stars, Gujarat Greats, Konark Suryas Odisha, and Total Hyderabad. Each team consists of retired players. Irrespective of their nationality, they can be a part of this event.
After playing in the double round-robin format, the top two teams contest the first qualifier. The third and fourth placed teams play an eliminator. In the second qualifier, the winner of the eliminator plays the loser of the first qualifier. The winner of the two qualifiers contest the final. India Capitals, Manipal Tigers, and Southern Super Stars have won one title each.
There is no link between the winners of the Masters tournament and Legends League Franchise cricket. It is simply put under the same umbrella as the focus players in action are retired international cricketers. The tournament is owned by Absolute Legends Sports Pvt. Ltd. None of the two events are recognized or affiliated with the International Cricket Council. The events are mainly targeted to keep the fans of retired players attracted to the sport.
