A report has surfaced alleging that a former South African Junior Springbok rugby player was arrested following a disturbing incident in a liquor store.
According to Herald Live, the episode occurred in a Kariega liquor store where Griquas prop Kudzwai Dube reportedly “stabbed a man” during a violent outburst. The report also claims that Dube caused further chaos by knocking bottles off shelves, throwing a security guard’s phone into a fridge, and eventually stabbing a man before stripping naked.
The entire ordeal reportedly lasted about three hours, ending only when police arrived and detained Dube.

Previous Controversies Involving Kudzwai Dube
Dube has been a member of the Griquas team since 2002 and played for the Junior Springboks in 2019.
Last year, during a Currie Cup match against the Griffons, Dube was penalized and spent time in the sin bin after an altercation with an opponent. Media24 reports that Dube was also accused of spitting in a Griffon player’s face.
Pieter Bergh, the head coach, defended Dube, suggesting there was provocation involved. “He was spat on first and retaliated in the heat of the moment. It’s not in his nature to act maliciously. He’s never received a red card in his career. We believe he was provoked, and we hope that this will be considered in any disciplinary decision,” Bergh stated.
