AN event filled with glitz, glamour and entertainment awaits entertainment lovers at the 2012 Miss Soweto pageant where Lebogang Monggae, the out-going Miss Soweto 2011 will officially hand over the crown to the new queen to be decided via a tight contest.
The much awaited event which will see the contestants showing their brightest stars during this gala event which is sponsored by the White Star Super Maize Meal and and hosted by comedian, Kedibone Mulaudzi will be held at the Jabulani Theatre in Soweto tomorrow (Saturday, November 10) from 6.30pm.
The top 20 finalists will compete for the prestigious title, joining a long line of exceptional queens who have represented the values that have defined and empowered a new generation of women.
“White Star believes in producing star quality and the pageant is a chance for the contestants to show how they embody this excellence every day,” says White Star Marketing Manager, Mokhele Makhothi.
The reigning Miss Soweto will follow in the footsteps of outgoing queen, Lebogang Monggae, and be the ambassador of Soweto, representing its historic background and vibrant culture.
“The star quality that the Miss Soweto Pageant produces can be seen in the great success achieved by the past title holders. Lebogang Monggae has become the Ambassador for Gauteng Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation and was a finalist in the Miss South Africa Pageant while previous queens have gone on to become entrepreneurs and high-profile personalities,” explains Makhothi.
With only R200 entrance fee which also include entry to after party, organizers has promised that this year’s event will be a memorable one. Tickets will be available at the door.
