Hotel Apollo announces new partnership and strategic direction

Hotel Apollo,  announced today  that it will now offer a wide range of day tours to its patrons as part of a new partnership  with Nzewe Tours and Drewe Associates. Hotel Apollo, the only four star hotel in Randburg in Johannesburg has been successfully operating in the conference and corporate sector for the past ten years and recently decided to add leisure options to its bouquet.

“The  tourism industry is extremely competitive and you have to make sure that you offer value for money and the highest levels of service to be a success. People expect more than just a clean bed to sleep in and a hot meal, they want to have easy access to various attractions, cultural experiences and travel services.  It is for this reason that we decided to partner with  Drewe  Associates and Nzewe Tours, who both have a lot of industry experience and a reputation of excellent service delivery ’ says Heleen Cloete, General Manager at Hotel Apollo.

“At Drewe  Associates we provide solutions to the South African tourism industry that will enhance and grow market share and we believe that these type of agreements go a long way to achieving that goal,” Charles added.Cloete says  guests that stay over at Hotel Apollo can now choose from several day tour packages to suit their budgets and needs.“Often visitors will only have an afternoon or a morning available to visit a tourist attraction, we are now in the position to offer them several two to three hour packages that range from eating tripe in Soweto to going down a mine shaft in Gold Reef City,” says Cloete

For the traveller that has more time on his or her hands, Hotel Apollo will also offer full day tours to as far as Sun City,  Pilanesberg and The Kruger National Park. “All the  operators at Nzewe Tours are qualified tour guides with a rich knowledge of our country and its history. South Africa is becoming a popular destination, especially after all the fantastic exposure from the 2010 World Cup. People are curious to know more about our history and our culture and they want to experience it when they visit our hotel. We believe that this partnership will greatly enhance our offering to the market,” concludes Cloete.

Hotel Apollo is the only  Four Star Grading awarded by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa in its area. It is situated in Ferndale, Randburg, ten minutes from Sandton City and with easy access to Oliver Tambo International Airport, Lanseria, Midrand and Pretoria. Previously catering solely for the corporate and conferencing clients, Hotel Apollo has now extended its offering to cater for the travel and leisure tourists.

Hotel Apollo is a combined hotel and conference centre, they  are able to offer  their clients facilities for conferences, product launches, dinner dance functions, breakfasts, lunches, weddings and luxury accommodation in a secure environment.  For their overseas guests they provide a free shuttle to both Hyde Park and Sandton shopping centers.
