PLATINUM Stars Football Club (Dikwena) will begin the new 2012/13 Premier Soccer League season with a home clash against Moroka Swallows at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace this Sunday at 3pm.
The new look Dikwena who recently launched a new Umbro jersey, will take to the field with their new signings that coach Cavin Johnson believes will not only play winning football, but also an entertaining style.
Johnson says his side is rearing to get the campaign off to a good start, especially as they have revenge on their minds when they host “The Birds”.
“We played Moroka Swallows towards the end of last season and they ended our hopes of reaching the top eight,” Johnson says. “That memory is still fresh, so we will go into the first game of the season hoping for the three points to exert a bit of revenge.”
“We have had a wonderful pre-season and I believe these players are ready for what promises to be a gruelling season.
Tickets for the game will be on sale from Thursday at Tlhabane Foro Spar, Lucky’s Pub in Phokeng and Mickey Geo Restaurant in Rustenburg, as well as at the stadium on match day and are set at R40 for adults and R20 for juveniles under the age of 12.
