THERE were total goals of 14 goals were scored during this weekend’s Absa Premiership clashes which saw seven of those goals being scored today.
The game that produced a lot of goals today was that one involving Platinum Stars and Pretoria University which produced a four goals thriller.
The match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, Phokeng outside Rustenburg saw the home side suffered some early night-mares when they were stunned 2-0 in what looked like a straight defeat, however it was not the case as Dinaledi made a dramatic come-back and cancelled the score to finish the match on a 2-2 draw.
In Pietermaritzburg, Black Leopards watched with disbelieve as the home side, Maritzburg United came from 1-0 to beat Lidoda Duvha 2-1 with only six minutes remaining to full time. Leopards had taken an early lead in the second half vie Nkosiyabo Xakane in the 56th minute in what looked like three points in the bag for the Limpopo side, however United’s Terrance Mandaza had a different opinion when he scored twice in a short space of two minutes.
The Zimbabwean-born star who was the main culprit in the People’s Team’s missed opportunities first scored in the 84th minutes before he could seal the KwaZulu-Natal side’s victory with another goal in the 86th minutes.
The match that produced highest goals during yesterdays’ league matches was at the Dobsonville Stadium, Soweto when AmaZulu beat home side Moroka Swallows 2-1 in a three goals thriller with log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs failing to stretch their lead when they dropped two points after they were held to a 1-1 draw at the FNB Stadium.
The other results yesterday are: Bloemfontein Celtic 1 v Chippa United 0 and Golden Arrows 1 v Free State Stars 0.
