LIMPOPO Tourism and Parks (LTP) call upon all tourism product owners to enter for the Imvelo 2011 Responsible Tourism Awards for the African Hospitality and tourism industries. The Awards seek to reward tourism and hospitality businesses that make a real, measurable and sustainable contribution to responsible tourism.
The Awards have a huge impact on tourism in South Africa and create significant awareness of environmental management issues; they are in line with the Responsible Tourism Guidelines for South African hospitality Industry and UN World Tourism Organization’s code of ethics.
The CEO of Limpopo Tourism and Parks, Mr. Rob Tooley, said, “We are confident to scoop awards in several categories as our province has the prowess of winning in these awards given the pristine nature of our products. We are calling upon our product owners to register in their numbers to put Limpopo on the map as the awards also help prepare our products to be up to standard in terms of the requirements in the tourism and hospitality industry”.
Hospitality and tourism establishments or businesses, irrespective of size, can enter any of the following Imvelo award categories:
Hospitality and tourism establishments, business and associations may enter in more than one category but entries must stipulate the category/categories that are applied for.
An overall Imvelo winner will be selected from the various categories – this may or may not be the winner of the Chairman’s award or of an individual category.
Entry forms and more information on this can be downloaded on www.inveloawards.co.za and the closing date for entries is the 31 August 2011.
Imvelo is an Nguni word for “nature”.
