Limpopo tourism to plough back to the community

LIMPOPO Tourism and Parks (LTP) will tomorrow afford 29 learners from Sterkrivier Combined School an opportunity to have firsthand experience of varios tourism activies at Doorndraai Dam. Activities lined up for the learners will include boat cruizing, Game driving, Hiking and a presentation on a fishing.

Sterkrivier is a farm school neighbouring Doorndraai Dam which is a Limpopo Wildlife Resort (LWR), a commercial wing of Limpopo Tourism and Parks. The 29 learners are doing grade 10,11 & 12 and they will also receive a presentation on Tourism and Enviroment career opportunities available.

The CEO OF ltp, Mr. Rob Tooley, said, “We belive by so doing we will be building future tourism leaders and amabassadors so that they can assist  the needy of in the community. This program is part of LTP’s Mandela month celebration which was preceded by our participation in the gardening activities at Bana- ba – Thari School garden whereby LTP staff also planted vegetable seeds. This programme is also part of our tourism startegy to encourage schools to tour our facilities like it used to happen in the past.”
