KAIZER Chiefs went on a rampage, beating Black Leopards 4-0 in a one sided Nedbank Cup’s last 16 match played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Pokokwane, Limpopo last night.

Lehlohonolo Majoro was Chiefs’ hero in this match, scoring all the four goals which saw Lidoda Duvha been kicked out of this competition which they played in its final match last season.

Majoro who was later replaced by Sthembiso Ngcobo produced an outstanding performance, scoring quick three goals within the first 15 minutes of the first half before adding his score-sheet to four in this match in the 51st minute, much to the delight of the roaring huge crowd which braved the chilling cold weather to this match .

The victory saw Chiefs book their place in the quarterfinals of the Ke Yona Cup. Other seven clubs which have since booked their positions in the quarterfinals are Maritzburg United who earlier in the day beat Golden Arrows 1-0 to book their place, Free State Stars, AmaZulu, Santos, Mamelodi Sundowns.

As for Leopards, the defeat is more like a blessing in disguise as this will give them more opportunity to concentrate on avoid relegation and their continental campaign in the CAF confederations Cup. For the record, Leopards faces DR Congo’ Saint Eloi Lupopo in the second leg of the Confederations Cup on April 6 away in Lubumbashi. The first leg of this match saw Leopards winning 4-2 at the Giyani Stadium last weekend.

Before that match, the Limpopo based side will have to play the same Kaizer Chiefs in a league match away at the FNB Stadium in Jozi this coming Tuesday.
