TSHOLOFELO Teko Modise’s relationship with Orlando Pirates came to a sad end after the talented midfielder was yesterday announced as a new player for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Pirates’ chairman, has since confirmed his blessings for Modise’s move to the Brazilians, despite the fact that the player was still surrounded by a investigations with regards to the findings of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the player’s widely reported absence from camp prior to the club’s Premier League match against Santos January 15 which.
Although the club had grounds to push on with the charges the chairman has decided not to go ahead as it has come to light that the player has agreed to join Mamelodi Sundowns.
Speaking at the press briefing Khoza said the main purpose of this press conference was to outline the findings of our investigation into the circumstances surrounding Modise’s absenteeism: “However late on Wednesday night, the club received an offer from Mamelodi Sundowns and subsequently the player has requested permission to enter into talks with Sundowns.”
“The club has decided not to stand in Modise’s way and thus have allowed the player to negotiate terms with Sundowns. In light of this revelation Orlando Pirates will no longer press charges as Modise is no longer a Pirates player, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors,” said Khoza.
