KAIZER CHIEFS general manager, Bobby Motaung has dismissed allegations that there are crisis in the club, and that he was on his way out.
Speaking at a media briefing today, Motaung said there are no crisis at the club and the current state of affairs that saw the Naturena-based side relieved Jimmy Tau his captaincy which has since been given to number one goalkeeper tumeleng Khune happened because change is always a good thing.
“There is no crisis here. This club has been well managed for the past 41 years and we will continue doing that for the next years to come. I didn’t apply for my job here through a CV because this is a family company which I have been part of it since my birth, and I am not going anywhere,” said the visibly angry Motaung.
Motaung said as the management of the club, they were worried after the club lost out in two competitions. For the record, Chiefs narrowly lost 1-0 to arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates in the final match of the MTN8 on September 11 before they were shown an early exit in the Telkom Knockout which they were defending champions after they lost 2-1 to Platinum Stars last Sunday (October 24).
“That we have lost out on those two competitions is history now, and same as the captaincy issue, we have close that issue with the media now and we hope not to hear about it any longer as we have since shifted our focus on winning the league,” pointed out Motaung.
Abou Tau’s future at the club, Motaung said the seasonal defender is still their player and as the club they haven’t receive any resignation from Tau and there is no bad blood between him (Tau) , the coach Vladimir Vermezovic and the rest of the team.
With the focus now on the league, the mighty Amakhosi will be looking forward to avenging their defeat by Dinaledi (Platinum Stars) whom they clash against in the Absa Premiership match billed for Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo this coming Saturday.
“We looking forward to that match, and the team is in a good shape and we shouldn’t have any problems winning this match so that we can bring the smile back to the face of our supporters,” said the confident Motaung.
Meanwhile Kaizer Chiefs and Sports Focus are giving away double tickets for the Chiefs v Platinum Stars at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, October 29.
