FORMER South African Under-23 assistant national coach Kenny Ndlazi is back in the country after spending almost two years in the Swaziland.
Sports Focus can reveal that Ndlazi is the new coach of National First Division League side FC Atlie, previously known as Nathi Lions.
The well travelled Ndlazi joined the club on Friday after negotiations with club owner and top Tembisa tycoon Thabo Mathamela. Ndlazi will be assisted by Sello “Skorokoro” Chokoe, the former Baroka FC coach who joined the club last month.
Ndlazi, who was in charge of the South African Under-23 side when they hammered Brazil 3-1 during the 2000 Sydney Olympics, was appointed coach of the Swaziland’s senior national team a fortnight ago but decided to return to Johannesburg due to family commiments.
Ndlazi and Mathamela could not be reached at the time of going to press but a formal announcement is expected to be made by the two parties during the week.
