New Santos mentor looking for results

SANTOS will look to break their lean run of form in the Absa Premiership when they host Kaizer Chiefs at Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Santos come into the game having lost 1-0 at home to SuperSport United in midweek, a fifth defeat in their last six league matches.

The Cape side has recorded four wins, one draw and seven losses from their 12 home matches this season.

The People’s Team is placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 25 matches.

Chiefs come into the game having suffered a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Maritzburg United in midweek.

The Soweto giants have recorded four wins, six draws and three losses from 13 away matches this season.

The Amakhosi are placed fifth on the Absa Premiership log with 40 points from 24 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Santos and Chiefs have met in 35 league games since 1991.

Amakhosi have claimed 15 wins compared to six for the People’s Team, while 14 matches have been drawn.

Santos have recorded four wins, seven draws and six losses in 17 home matches against Chiefs.

When the teams met earlier this season they played to a goalless draw.
