THE National First Division clubs kicked-off their 2010/11 season with 15 goals being scored at various venues over the past weekend.
In the coastal stream, the total of nine goals were scored in three matches with the match involving Witbank Spurs and Dynamos producing four goals. The match in eMalahleni’s Pumas Rugby Stadium saw Spurs winning 3-1 at the expense of Ri Khomeni Ri Nga Peli.
In Venda’s Tshifhulanani Stadium, Black Leopards started their new season on high, beating newcomers FC AK 2-0 while Batau lost 2-1 to United FC in their own back-yard at Mpumalanga Stadium.
In the coastal stream African Warriors beat Thanda Royal Zulu 2-1 in Qwa Qwa’s Charles Mopeli Stadium with Bay United also registering a 2-1 victory over rookies, Blackburn Rovers at Wesbourne Oval while FC Cape Town and Carara Kicks settled for a 1-1 draw at the NNK Rugby Stadium.
The match involving Jomo Cosmos and Pretoria University on Sunday, September 12 was postponed to September 22.
