SAFA Limpopo provincial representative Lucas Nhlapo is confident that the appointment of an interim committee will bring stability in Sekhukhune region.
Nhlapo said the nine-man committee that was appointed last week is expected to revive the region and come up with the election date within a month.
The region become leaderless since the federation’s national office dissolved the executive committee in April following infightings that rendered the region non-functional.
“We are confident that the committee will equal the task based on their experience in football. Their sole mandate is to bring stability in the region,” said Nhlapo.
Committee coordinator Phillip “Pro” Mosoma said they will do their level best to ensure that they revive mass participation in the region.
“People who were running football in the region had no interest because five years have passed without a regional team being promoted to the Vodacom League. We will engage the district municipality, business people and parents to ensure that we draw in children to soccer,” said Mosoma.
Other members of the committee are: Jimmy Makofane, Peter Matabane, Jimmy Ditshego, Mackson Mphaphathi, Thabo Matentji and Fofo Rachidi.
