THE hosts of this year’s Absa Women’s league, North West have been drawn in the tough group against defending champions, Gauteng and runners-up Eastern Cape.Gauteng hosted and won the inaugural competition during the national championships which were played in Tshwane last year, beating Eastern Cape 2-1 on the process to lift the title.This year’s championships will see the opening and closing ceremonies taking place at the Itsoseng township’s local Stadium with the rest of the matches being played at the North West University (Mafikeng campus)The competition will kick-off in a round-robin format, and the clubs which finished with top points in each group will then qualify for the final match which will takes place at Itsoseng Stadium on August 14.
