Ian Palmer has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Maritzburg United FC. He will take his first training session this morning. Ernst Middendorp was fired after Maritzburg lost 3-0 to Moroka Swallows in a Nedbank Cup match this past Friday night.
Maritzburg are delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Palmer as the club’s new head coach. Palmer has signed a contract with the club until June 2012, according to the club’s official website.
“Having worked with Ian before and with him being available immediately, the directors of Maritzburg United Football Club believe that he is the best person to take the club forward, said Chairman, Farook Kadodia.
“He has high energy levels as a coach and will get his players to go out onto the field and fight for him,” concluded Kadodia.
This is Palmer’s second stint with the KZN club.
The club is now channeling all of their efforts into supporting Palmer, his assistants and the players as the club prepares for Wednesday’s vital Absa Premiership encounter against Platinum Stars. – psl.co.za
