The towering model from Dithabaneng village in Ga-Mphahlele easily sailed her way to the top prize ahead of her peers during a glittering event organized by Nonduduzelo Lillian Tjie of Ashes to Beauty held at the Lebowakgomo Civic Centre this past weekend.
Hot on Pebetsi’s heels was Surprise Shaku who was crowned 1st Princes with Mpho Montjane as the 2nd Princess.
In the Teens category, Ofentse Sebopa was crowned the Queen with Reatlegile Mphahlele and Ofentse Kgomoeswana as 1st and 2nd Princesses.
Cellucia was crowned the Queen while Tebogo Motlalepoo and Kagiso Matsi were crowned 1st and 2nd Princesses in the Pre-Teens category.
To add flair to the event, there was also a category for junior models, the Little Cutty Miss which saw Bokang Mahogany walking all the way home with the Queen’s prize while Palesa Ledwaba and Pekoana were crowned 1st and 2nd Princesses respectively.
Said Lillian Tjie after the event: “For us the event was amazing because the main purpose was for the children of Lepelle-Nkumpi and we achieved that. We loved that all the models were cooperative and excited to participate. All the models gave their best and were proudly participants.”
Tjie added that: “The Judges were fair and had tough time picking winners although at the end it was possible to pick out participants who were more deserving. We are happy that all the winners were also happy about their prize.
Although we are self-funding beauty pageant, we are grateful to the Lepelle-Nkumpi Municipality for allowing us to give opportunity to the children of our community. We pride ourselves with joy to see children happy at the end of the day and being able to gain self-confidence.”
She also said they were grateful to everyone who made this event possible, the audience, parents, judges and our MCs as well, not forgetting Bivoke Makeup artist (aka Phomolo Bianca Tjie).
