Proteas star David Miller reportedly postponed his wedding plans following a late call-up to the Bangladesh Premier League.
In August of the previous year, David Miller, a notable Proteas player, announced his engagement to his fiancée Camilla Harris on 31 August 2023, after proposing during a trip to Victoria Falls.
Although wedding preparations were already in progress, Miller was initially not expected to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League. However, he was eventually persuaded to join the Fortune Barishal team for the final stages of the tournament.
Miller arrived at the team camp on February 21 and quickly became a key player through the playoffs, leading to the team’s championship victory.
Reports indicate that Miller postponed his wedding to play for Fortune Barishal, a decision that ultimately paid off with the team’s victory in the final.
MANAGING CRICKET CAREERS
Miller has recently discussed the challenges of the packed cricket schedule and the necessity of managing his playing commitments carefully.
“With so much cricket being played internationally and in leagues, schedules can become quite hectic,” he stated. “At this stage in my career, I pay close attention to my body’s signals.
“I aim to avoid playing so much cricket that I become mentally exhausted. It’s crucial to listen to your body and recognize when a break is needed.
“Being honest about needing rest is vital. With the significant financial aspects of cricket today, it’s important to make wise decisions about taking breaks versus continuing to play.”
