THE Premier Soccer Leagues yesterday confirmed dates and venues for the Telkom Knockout last 16.
The competition kicks off next Friday (October 19) with the first match taking place in Johannesburg when last season’s finalists, Bidvest Wits welcome log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs at the Bidvest Stadium. Kick-off is 8.15pm
Four more matches will follow a day after (October 20) with Free State Stars taking on Golden Arrows at Goble Park, while in the Mother city, Ajax Cape Town will host SuperSport United at the awe-striking Cape Town Stadium. Both matches kick-off at 3pm.
Two more matches will be played in the evening of the same day with Maritzburg United entertaining the high-ridding Moroka Swallows at the Harry Gwala Stadium while in Limpopo, Black Leopards host the competition’s defending champions, Orlando Pirates at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kick-off for both fixtures is 8.15pm
On October 21, the competition will go under-way with Platinum Stars travelling to Durban’s Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium to take on AmaZulu while at the same time, newly-promoted Chippa United will host Bloemfontein Celtic at the Philippi Stadium. Kick-off is at 3pm.
The last match of the competition’s last 16 stage will be played on October 23 when the troubled Mamelodi Sundowns take on neighbours, University of Pretoria at the Lucas Moripe Stadium under the floodlights at 7.30pm
