Vodacom’s Push iPassion campaign has been gaining momentum since its introduction at the beginning of the 2010/11 PSL season, and now it is expanding to include Mpumalanga province ahead of the clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Mpumalanga Black Aces. The campaign was initiated to draw people to stadiums to demonstrate their passionate support for their teams and to create a festive atmosphere that proves South Africa’s football culture is healthy and competitive. Supporters are encouraged to dress up in team colours in as flamboyant a fashion as possible to try to outdo their opponents in a challenge to see who supports their club more passionately.
Enzo Scarella, Vodacom’s Managing Executive: Marketing said, “Vodacom’s commitment is to ensuring that the passion of South African football support is comparable to anywhere in the world and we are pleased that the Push iPassion campaign has brought out the best in the supporters for the matches it has promoted. We encourage the people of Mpumalanga to come to the stadium and demonstrate for their team and generate an electric atmosphere that will inspire the players to perform at their peak, thereby providing fantastic entertainment for everyone.”
The build-up to the match will include a roadshow in the region aimed at exposing the public to some of Vodacom’s exciting new products and services offered by Yebo Traders, including M-Pesa and the importance of RICA registration. An interactive activation with customers which includes merchandise give-aways and entertainment in the form of Diski Dancers will help to whip up a mood of anticipation. Give-aways on the roadshow will include Vodacom/KC Dual Branded T-shirts, 5 handsets, 5 R500 Vodacom Gift Cards, free tickets, branded water bottles and free Vodacom Starter Packs.
Moreover, supporters will be encouraged to take advantage of some of Vodacom’s most affordable specials, such as the all day rate of R1.40, the cheapest Vodacom rate, Night Shift and the R29 voucher (Recharge to get nightshift free calls for one hour).
In addition, Kaizer Chiefs will be available to interact publicly with customers, who can enjoy a photo opportunity or the acquisition of an autograph at Elukwatini Plaza on 20 December and at Blue Haze Mall the following day.
On match day, Yebo Traders will circulate amongst the fans inside the stadium, offering airtime for sale, while RICA and M-Pesa agents will also be available to facilitate easy registration for supporters.
