The Springboks are set for a three-Test tour in Europe this November, where they will face Scotland, England, and Wales on successive weekends.
During their Outgoing Tour in November, the Springboks will compete against Rugby World Cup adversaries Scotland and England, followed by a match against Wales, with the fixtures finalized on Monday.
The tour commences on Sunday, November 10, in Edinburgh against the sixth-ranked Scotland—whom the Springboks met in their first game of the 2023 RWC—before they face RWC semi-finalists and fifth-ranked England in London on Saturday, November 16. The tour concludes against tenth-ranked Wales in Cardiff on Saturday, November 23.
This series will be the Springboks’ first encounter with Scotland since their 18-3 win in Marseille in September of the previous year and their first game in Edinburgh since November 2021, which saw the Springboks victorious at 30-15.
The last match against England at Twickenham took place in November 2022, with the Springboks securing a 27-13 win. Their most recent game against Wales in Cardiff was a RWC warm-up match, which ended in a record 52-16 triumph for the Springboks.
Additionally, the game against Wales this year will be their second, following their season opener at Twickenham on Saturday, June 22.
Rassie Erasmus, the Springbok coach, anticipates a thrilling November tour, stating, “As a team, we aim to consistently challenge ourselves against the top international teams, and facing Scotland, Wales, and England at the end of the year, two of whom were our competitors in the World Cup, will be fantastic for both the team and the players.”
Erasmus noted, “While Wales had a disappointing Six Nations, and Scotland and England showed varying results, playing them at home is always challenging. We need to be at our best.”
Erasmus also mentioned the busy season ahead, including home Test series against Ireland in the Castle Lager Incoming Series and New Zealand in the Rugby Championship, as well as a match against Portugal, and two matches each against Australia and Argentina. He expressed enthusiasm for the year-end games against Scotland, England, and Wales, adding an exciting element to the season.
