CRAZY STAT ALERT: This World Cup winner has yet to experience defeat in a Springbok jersey.
After 11 Test matches, this player remains unbeaten in his international career with the Springboks.
Canan Moodie made his Test debut and scored his first try for the Springboks as a 19-year-old on September 3, 2022, in a match against Australia. Since then, Moodie has accumulated 11 Test appearances and even earned a Rugby World Cup winners medal as part of the 2023 squad in France.
His international record includes three matches against Argentina, two each against Australia and New Zealand, and one each against England, Wales, Tonga, and Romania.
Remarkably, all these matches have ended in victories for the Springboks, giving Moodie an outstanding start to his blossoming international career.
Now 21, Moodie was recently selected for the Springboks’ squad traveling to Argentina for a one-Test tour. Head coach Rassie Erasmus will surely be hoping that Moodie’s incredible winning streak continues in the green and gold jersey.
SPRINGBOK BUILDING A UNIQUE LEGACY
In a recent interview, Moodie reflected on his achievements but emphasized that he still has many personal goals to accomplish in the future.
“I am still writing my story,” Moodie said.
“I’ve achieved a lot, including becoming a Springbok and winning the World Cup. But I want to keep progressing on that path. When I retire, I want to be remembered as someone who gave everything in every match, who put his body on the line and loved the game.”
