Two Star Players from Stormers Set for Springbok Debuts in 2024

Two standout players from the Stormers are on course to receive Springbok call-ups later this year, signaling their rising prominence in rugby.

The national coaching team of the Springboks is expected to introduce fresh faces into the wider squad as they start planning beyond the World Cup group. Among these, two forwards from the Stormers are making significant impressions.

Hacjivah Dayimani, a 26-year-old talent at the Stormers, is poised to make his mark in the Springbok squad. Known for his exceptional mobility and refined skills, Dayimani is eyeing a spot in the national team. His prospects could be bolstered by showcasing robust defense, increased physicality, and a strong work rate.

Dayimani’s versatility allows him to play across the back row, and with his consistent performances in the URC and Europe this season, the Bok coaches might be inclined to evaluate his abilities closely.

With Frans Malherbe currently sidelined, Neethling Fouche, the tighthead prop, has risen to prominence at the Stormers, drawing attention from the Springbok selectors. Fouche is recognized for his aggressive scrummaging and dynamic play, attributes that are likely attracting the Bok coaches, particularly while Vincent Koch is also recovering from an injury.

Rito Hlungwani, the Stormers assistant coach, recently praised Fouche’s dedication and hard work. Hlungwani believes Fouche’s commitment and warrior-like attitude make him a suitable candidate for the national team. He suggested that Fouche should be considered for the alignment camps, allowing the Springbok coaches to assess his compatibility with the national team environment, where he is believed to fit well.
