AS if Moroka Swallows’ worst-ever performance in the field of play is not enough, the club’s troubles have been worsened by a high rate of players on suspension.
Having collected a mere five points out of 13 Absa Premiership matches by far, it is a naked truth that Swallows who remain in the bottom of the log are having its worst-ever season and their troubles are seems not to be anywhere near the end as they currently have four of their key players on suspension.
According to the list of suspended players released by the Premier Soccer League this week, Swallows’ bad boys in the field of play include their number one goalkeeper, Gret Etafia, Morgan Shivambu, Roger da Costa and Oscar Machipa of whom the beautiful Birds will have to face BidVest Wits University away on Saturday, January 15 without these players. Kick-Off at the BidVest Stadium is at 3.30pm.
Second from Swallows with the highest suspension rate is Golden Arrows with two players and technical team member in Musa Bilankulu, Russel Mlotshwa and Alexandra Revoredo.
Title chasers, Kaizer Chiefs who faces third placed, Ajax Cape Town away on Friday night are not the good side when coming to bad boys with two of their key players, Valery Nehayo and Simphiwe Tshabalala among 14 of the suspended players in the league. Their opponents Ajax on the other hand will be without Thembinkosi Fanteni who is also on suspension.
The rest of suspended players are Bradley Carnell (SuperSport United), Lebo Ramolesa (Platinum Stars), Luvengo Mungomeni (Mamelodi Sundowns) and Musa Nyatama (Maritzburg United).
