IT is official, the Natal Sharks will face Western Province in the final match of the Absa Currie Cup without a sponsor.
This after the club announced that their 11 years-old relationship with Absa has come to a sad end.
This comes as an aftermath as Absa decided to drop the current sponsorship and that one of the naming rights of the popular Kings Park Stadium which has been called Absa Stadium for the past ten years.
This new development comes at the time when Sharks were looking forward to lift the 2010 edition of the Currie Cup at the expense of the visiting Western Province whom they are hosting on Saturday, October 30. Kick-Off in Durban’s historical Absa Stadium is at 5.30pm.
The Shark Tank’s head coach John Plumtree said their focus right is on Saturday’s match while leaving other matters to the management.
“The event of this week will not have any impact to our match on Saturday, hence our focus is on preparing for that match,” said Plumtree.
Plumntree’ sentiments were echoed by the team captain, Stefan Terblanche who said that they are relying more on their senior players as they understand politics of the game.
